About My Career:

I taught special ed in the Detroit Public Schools for two
years before starting a family. In later years I did some subbing, managed a blueberry farm, sold antiques, taught
adults in a literacy program (not all at the same time).
My husband, three kids, and two daughters-in-law are all
attorneys, so in our family I am outnumbered no matter what profession I claim.

Redford Memories:

"Are you from Redford? Yes, I'm from Redford!"
-(an old school song)

ARE YOU FROM REDFORD? (a "poem")

I am from 6th through 11th, the Grand River bus, and "no
hanging around" in Barbasas drug store. From school-issued faded red bathing suits, girls' basketball--no more
than two dribbles allowed, square dancing with the boys on Fridays, and the Freshman Mixer where I danced with senior Bill Heaphy.

I am from "All of Gaul is divided into three parts" with Mr. Polson, red-inks from Mr. Horowitz, Girls Glee with Loretta Petrosky, and intellectual invigoration from Miles
Platt. From Harsh is Devine and Devine is Harsch. From Pop Blanchard's Mio trip and avoiding Mr. Frantzen in the botany greenhouse. I am from just one of the Morford sisters.

I am from Red and Gray Days, a trench coat, never-bleached-white wool socks, and loafers--or Jack Purcell tennis shoes. From sissy blouses and a pixie hairdo--or a
ponytail--or a bubble. I am from the Daisy Dip, Two's Company, Mr. Fraternity, and the J-Hop at Lovitt Hall...
shoes died to match the dress. From New Year's Eve at the Clubhouse.

I am from 1st through 7th, the Big R-E, The Outpost, clothing drives, paper drives, meeting at the Hy-Y desk, Operation Green, my locker on 3-Old, lunch in the alcove, and the thrill of singing in Mr. Fenby's choir. From selling fudge for Thespians at auditorium intermissions. From selling donuts for AMO on Saturday mornings, door to door. I'm from Driver's Ed at Cody and RHS graduation at Cooley.

Yes, I'm from Redford!

If you have time to read her full obituary you will see what a full life she made for herself and her family.
