The last time I saw my long-time friend Bob was in May 2007. He and his wife, Carolyn, hosted a Redford reunion at their home in the Atlanta area. Attending were Bob, me and John Phelps, a 1961 Redford grad. For the 2 ½ days we were together, we poured over several issues of Blazer yearbooks, a variety of photos and a bunch of other stuff. We recalled people, places and things from our high school days, laughed a lot and, perhaps, cringed a little over a recalled high school embarrassment. It was a wonderful time of reconnecting, made all the more important because Bob would suffer a fatal heart attack 18 months later.-- Earl Flowers

How sad to read that Bob is no longer with us.  I immediately remembered the incident in the cafeteria at Redford .  .  . I was having lunch with a bunch of kids, Bob being one of us, and it was Football season and Redford was winning everything.  We were really pumped up so decided to start a cheer for Redford.  Bob got up on the table and started yelling" give me an R . . . he got as far as the first "D" and we were all hauled down to the principal's office.  What a fun guy he was and unfortunately, I really never got to know him.

So sorry to year about Bob.  We both attended Burt School.  The thing I remember was that he was such a polite boy in elementary school and seemed to not let himself get out of control.
