Diana was surrounded by love and compassion when she passed a little after 11 am. Both her daughter Lisa and I were by her side, talking to her and hugging her.
There will not be a funeral service. In coming days there will be an obituary posted on the Web site of the Nie Funeral Home in Ann Arbor. We'll send you the link when that is available.
In the spring we'll have a gathering to celebrate her life. We'll let you know later about that. There might be some accommodation for remote participation.
Please pass this email to others who you believe would like to be aware of all this, and have them email me if they want to know about the celebration or otherwise wish to be in touch.
Love to you all. Enjoy and cherish your memories of Diana. Greg

Greg:
I have a handmade, green-gray textured slab cup – about 5 inches high. On the bottom of the cup is signed Pan. I do not use it for coffee each morning but often enough, and I recall who made the cup and gave it to me. Diana Pancioli.
Diana gave it to me on the weekend of our Redford High School (Detroit) reunion in 2010. On the Saturday morning of the weekend reunion, Diana led a small group of a tour of the elevated APM (automatic people mover) tram that moves around downtown Detroit. Diana was a member of the committee/commission that planned the design of each tram station. Following her tour, a group of us had lunch at a restaurant along the Detroit River. Since she had led the tour, I treated her for lunch, and at dinner that evening, she gave me the cup.

I remember Diana mainly from Cook school where we were in the eighth grade; I coming in late from a suburban school; she had a younger brother who seemed to have his eye on me. Truly, that's all I remember. I don't remember her brother's name but I sense he might still be alive since he was younger. She was a nice person. I don't think we spent much time together in high school. Thank you for letting me comment.
